Sentinel-1 over the Norwegian mainland

Sentinel-1 data is acquired over Norwegian areas of interest at a high pace. The gif show the Sentinel-1 interferometric wide swath (IW) products aquired over the Norwegian mainland over six days. IW is the primary mode used for land and coastal areas. The products can inspected more closely in the search interface or by means of the Mosaic Tool.

Sentinel-1 in satellittdata.no

We are pleased to inform that Sentinel-1 Ground Range Detected (GRD) Extra Wide (EW) swath mode now are available in satellittdata.no/metadata_search (i.e. Get Data -> National hub). The Sentinel-1 satellites carries a C-band SAR instrumet which is, among others, capable of acquiring radar-"images" of the earth surface independent of clouds in the athmosphere and sunlight.

Work in progress

Currently there work ongoing to integrate Sentinel-1 data in the test portal. As these data are converted from SAFE to NetCDF/CF there are some issues affecting visualisation and transformations. Thus you may find Sentinel-1 data that are not behaving properly in the test portal. However, all data should work properly in the DHUS based portal (ColHub).
