Sentinel-2 observations in twilight conditions

By trygveh |

Starting on the 23rd October 2019, the observation scenario for the Sentinel-2B mission was extended to include acquisition in twilight conditions with a Sun-Zenith Angle (SZA) up to 85 deg. Read more about the this here

This means that we will have a longer period of Sentinel-2 observations at high latitudes. The difference, i.e. the extended area of observations, can be visualized by means of comparing the Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B aquisition segments in the Sentinel Aqcuisition Plan.

We encourage Norwegian users to make use of these products and report on benefits from the extension of the acquisition period. You can use the contact form to report on your findings. Below, you find a screenshot from "twilight products" covering parts of Finnmark from the 26th October 2019 which is available in satellittdata.no.
